Ana Nieves-Toscano has over 14 years of experience in the educational field. She began working alongside the Reading Specialist in an urban setting in the Los Angeles Unified School District. After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Science in Psychology and double minored in Chicano/a Studies and Education she set out to clear her multiple teaching credential and obtained her Bilingual, Cross-cultural, Language and Academic Development (BCLAD). She then she set out to continue working in an urban setting with minority students and it was at The Accelerated School where she began as a Physical Education teacher for kinder through second grade and then began fully teaching in a general education classroom. She is now in her 11th year of her contractual teaching at The Accelerated School, where she has taught 1st grade, 2nd grade and 3rd grade. In addition she has also taught 4th and 7th grade in intercessional periods as an intervention teacher. Ms. Nieves-Toscano has also been a Saturday school coordinator/administrator for the Youth Policy Institute- Supplemental Educational Services program.
